Pre Hospital
January | Mary was feeling sore and we thought it was related to lifting and muscle pain. She had seen the doctor and he had scheduled work with a therapist.
January | Mary went to the acupuncturist and came home complaining of tiredness. She laid down and a while later called me saying that she could not get up. I helped her up and she was able to get to the bathroom on her own.
January | Mary was able to move around and get up from a chair, but not from the bed.
January | Monday morning I took her to therapy and then back to the doctor. The doctor ordered blood tests.
January | Mary was weaker and we returned to the doctor for the results of the blood tests. The doctor ordered more X rays and said he was concerned that there was something invasive in her bones.
January | The doctor called me and said he thought it was Multiple myeloma and he requested approval for the biopsy. Sandy came over to help . Monica is in Australia and will come down when she returns
January | Gooby has come down to help.
January | Biopsy approved and scheduled for 24 January. More blood tests ordered.
January | Spoke to doctor to see if we cannot speed things up and start some type of therapy soon.. The oncologist has been contacted. I have taken personal necessity leave (which comes off my sick leave allotment) and I will probably retire at the end of this semester (school year).
January | The Doctor called and said it would be best to admit her to Scripps Encinitas in order to get her blood levels down to normal, reduce her pain and speed things up. We took her to emergency.
